Artist's Description
Lighthouses are inspiring to me as an artist with their unique architecture. They are monuments of history. In their walls are hidden stories of ships fighting against the fury of a stormy sea. In most of my paintings I create an atmosphere that reflects these dangers of the Ocean. I therefore paint traumatic skies and foaming waves. I believe that this creates a point of interesting in a seascape, especially if there is a distinctive contrast between the dark and light of the water and sky. The ocean is wonderful and majestic, it is a privilege that I can share such beauty through my art.

Gina Femrite began cultivating her artistic abilities at an early age under the guidance and mentorship of her father, Johann Strater, a European Impressionist. Her talents as an innovative artist, passion, and dedication have acclaimed her the status of an accomplished and thriving sought-after artist among other contemporaries. Her primary inspiration came from her love of the Flemish masters and the French Impressionists. Gina developed her unique style from that influence, a mixture of realism and contemporary flair.
